PETCO Park Engagement Session with Brian & Kristi

I’m not a big fan of Baseball, but I always wanted to do a San Diego PETCO Park engagement session. I grew up going to soccer games, and I enjoy the stadium atmosphere. When Kristi first contacted me, she mentioned they were not only huge fans of the San Diego Padres but also season holders and had some contacts inside PETCO Park. I felt it was a good opportunity to do my first PETCO Park engagement session.

We met at the park, and the couple was excited to show me around. We got an amazing VIP tour from one of her friends and then started taking photos around PETCO Park. There were some great locations to explore for a PETCO Park engagement session, and knowing it’s a special place for Kristi and Brian made it even more special.

We went down to the edge of the baseball field, where I was able to get some shots from the field perspective. Kristi and Brian were very comfortable and were enjoying the engagement session. They brought some baseballs with ‘Mr’ and Mrs’ engraved that worked great for some close-up shots. After that, we moved inside PETCO park and visited the San Diego Padre's Museum. We found some cool walls to use during the session. My favorite one was the American flag made out of colored baseballs. It was a very interesting idea.

When we felt like we had enough from PETCO Park, we decided to head to the beach for the sunset. We went over the bridge for their favorite San Diego beach: Coronado. The beach was empty, the sun was shining, and the tide was low. That makes for some great conditions for a San Diego engagement session.

I always encourage my clients to choose two locations for the engagement session. I feel like one location could lack variety, and three locations could be a lot of driving around. So, in my opinion, two locations are ideal when it comes to San Diego engagement sessions. If we are talking about a very diverse location, like Balboa Park, it’s okay to just use one. If you’re looking to get the most out of your engagement session, I created this quick guide to assist. Please click here to view it.

Brian and Kristi laughed, walked on the sand, and had a good time at the beach. We watched a gorgeous Coronado Sunset and were happy with how the day went.

It was my first San Diego PETCO Park engagement session, and I’m happy with how it turned out. I’m looking forward to Brian and Kristi’s wedding at The Venue 808, in downtown San Diego.
