Chris & Anna’s The Immaculata Catholic Church Wedding Photos
I've said it before and I’ll say it again: I enjoy outdoor weddings very much. But, there’s something about church weddings that is very special. So, I was ready for another Immaculata Catholic Church Wedding.
The Immaculata Catholic Church is located at the USD campus. Needless to say, it’s one of the most photogenic locations for a wedding ceremony in San Diego. The interior of the church is beautiful, and there are plenty of locations around for portraits of the bride and groom.
We started the day at Anna’s home in Chula Vista, south San Diego, for some getting-ready shots. Anna had a full house, and many of her friends and family members were present to help her get ready for her Immaculata Catholic Church Wedding at USD. After the bride was ready, I quickly went to the church to start setting up for the wedding ceremony.
I arrived early at the Immaculata Catholic Church and started photographing some details and guests arriving. Anna arrived and everything was ready to start. Bridesmaids and groomsmen were aligned at the door and all guests were seated.
It was a long and beautiful procession due to the large bridal party Anna and Chris had. Their friends were visibly happy to be at their wedding ceremony witnessing such an important time in their lives. After a great start to the ceremony, things kept running smoothly until the end.
After the ceremony finished, we gathered their families for some formal photos. Even though they both had large families, the process was easy and organized. We were then free for some bridal party and bride and groom photos around the Immaculata Catholic Church.
I lined up the bridal party in front of The Immaculata Catholic Church for a photo to start warming up the crowd. We snapped a few photos and proceeded to change locations. We moved closer to the church for some more pictures of the bridal party - this time groomsmen and bridesmaids separately.
After we finished the bridal party, it was time for some couple's portraits. Again, we picked a few locations around The Immaculata Catholic Church and the USD campus.
We explored the grounds as much as we could, but it was time to move to Balboa Park for a few more photos of the couple. Balboa Park is one of my favorite San Diego locations, and luckily it was also on the way to the reception. It was nice to be using a much different location for variety.
I always recommend my clients pick a second location for portraits when possible. It's always nice to have different spots for your session.
Once we felt good about the photos we moved to Marina Village for Chris and Anna's wedding reception. They had a great party planned and their friends were starting to arrive. They were ready to party.
It was another successful Immaculata Catholic Church Wedding at USD. I was very happy to document it, and I hope it brings great memories to the couple for years to come.
Congratulations to Chris and Anna on their San Diego wedding!
