Mt. Woodson Castle | Ramona Wedding Venues

A historical landmark, Mt. Woodson Castle is one of the most unique wedding venues in San Diego. Originally built as a private residence, in 1929, the castle was later transformed into an event venue.

Mt. Woodson Castle offers a variety of ceremony and reception sites. It allows the couples to customize their wedding as they please, giving them choices. The lower patio is my favorite ceremony area, due to the beautiful tree in the background. Couples can also pick the castle for the background of their wedding ceremony. It’s also not a bad background. Bride and groom can also use an indoor area, inside the castle. It’s a popular choice for the dance floor and the dessert table.

Personal Touch Dinning always caters the food. Some see it as a lack of choices, I highly recommend them. Even for a wedding in a different venue. Even though they are the only catering vendor allowed, they offer a choice of buffet style dinner, or plated.

Mt. Woodson is a full service wedding venue. They have two separated suits for bride and groom get ready. Due to that fact, you can stay in the property the entire time.

From the photography standpoint, it’s a great venue. First of all, the castle brings a unique vibe to the wedding photos. Particularly, I really enjoy incorporating architecture to my wedding photography.  The rustic gardens also are a great place to take the couples, specially as the sun lowers. With eight and a half acres of landscaping, there is a lot to explore.

A different alternative, Mt. Woodson should be a place to consider if you are looking for a Ranch wedding.
