Richard & Kristen’s Coronado Island Wedding Photos

It was a hot and sunny day in Southern California, and I couldn’t be more ready for this Coronado wedding. Kristen was, prior to the wedding day, one of the most excited brides I have ever worked with. She called me frequently to discuss details of the wedding, and she was very energetic and happy every time she spoke about it.

On the wedding day, I met Kristen at Hilton San Diego Bayfront for her getting ready. Family and friends filled the room, and everyone was doing what they could to help. While the hairdresser worked on Kristen’s hair, she wrote her wedding vows, asking for some assistance from her close friends.

We left downtown San Diego towards the island of Coronado. Although it’s a very short car ride, I’m always excited to be a part of any Coronado wedding.  Upon arriving at the beach, you could see the wedding set up from far away. Beautifully designed orange flowers contrasted with the white sands, creating the dream Coronado wedding.

Richard and Kristen held hands the entire time during the ceremony, and exchanged looks that showed how in love they were. Richard’s vows brought tears to Kristen eyes, and the Hotel Del Coronado made the perfect background for my photos.

Balboa Park, being on the way to the reception, was the obvious choice for couple’s portraits. We stopped by with the entire bridal party, and got the job done.

We started to move along to The Ultimate Skybox, in downtown San Diego, where I wanted to do a few more photos of the couple alone. With the Padres stadium in the background, it was a great opportunity to create a silhouette shot that represented San Diego really well.

Being the big Padres fan that Richard is, I’m sure he really liked it. The energy from downtown San Diego really created a fun environment for the reception. Bride and groom were extremely happy to have their family and friends in one place, and the night was filled with dancing and fun.

Finally, in the end of the evening, the couple had their grand exit and left to party more around downtown San Diego.
