Life is meant to be enjoyed with great love and great wine. At least, that’s what I believe in. And on my recent wedding shoot with Nick and Mary on their San Diego winery wedding, I concur my belief has merits. The couple’s special event was held at Doffo Winery in Temecula. It was the perfect San Diego winery wedding venue for wine lovers. The vineyard’s sprawling space and collection of motorcycles on display made the location unique and unforgettable.
Nick and Mary’s special day started with them getting ready at the winery house – separate for the time being, as it should be. Nick was with his dad. They got ready together and had their special moment. Mary, who is a vocalist for a rock band, listened to Metallica while her glam team spruced her up for the big day. True to her rock chick persona, Mary opted for a tank top with a sparkly “future mrs. cap” printed on it instead of the traditional bridal robe. She, too, had a special moment with her mom before the ceremony.
The couple’s San Diego winery wedding rites were held at Piazza Doffo. Nick and Mary, standing on a raised stage at the end of the central aisle, were wed in front of their family and friends surrounded by greenery. Before the reception, we did a post-ceremony photo shoot. I snapped portraits of the newlyweds around the property. A San Diego winery wedding has a lot of perks. The backdrop alone is to die for. We didn’t need any special decor or whatnot. The vineyard was a major decoration in itself.
Then, the wedding party started. Nick and Mary’s wedding reception at the Moto Barrel Room was a delight. The place was set up in a classy way, befitting a winery wedding. Long tables in midnight blue covers were decorated with fresh flowers. The gold plates, polished cutleries, and sparkling wine glasses were a joy to shoot, so was the dessert table with its delectable cupcakes, chocolate truffles, and the newlywed’s minimalist cake. And of course, there were the charming guests who were all so happy to be a part of Nick and Mary’s special day.
When the place is oozing with love and good booze, a dance party is always in order. And this wedding party didn’t disappoint. After dinner, Nick and Mary’s guests went to town busting moves here and there. Some even went barefoot and let it all out!
Don’t forget to check out their awesome photo booth!
Needless to say, Nick and Mary’s wedding was smooth and sleek like an aged wine.
